Our Privacy Policy

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

We’ve refreshed and clarified our Privacy Policy. Nothing is changing with regard to your current subscription(s) to our services, your user experience on our websites, or the level of security we provide to protect your information.

These updates are part of new data privacy protections for residents of the European Union (EU) that provide the right to request and/or delete your personal data. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) goes into effect on May 25, 2018.

While GDPR only applies to European citizens, we’re committed to protecting the privacy of all our users regardless of where they’re located geographically.

Who we are

We are Accentrio, an AGD Technology brand.  Our website address is: https://www.accentrio.com/ and AGDTechnology can be found at https://www.agdtechnology.com/.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We may collect:

+ personal data, such as name, email address, personal account preferences; transactional data, such as purchase information;

+ and technical data, such as information about cookies.

We do not collect sensitive personal data, such as data concerning health on this website.

The legal basis for this data collection and retention or the active consent the user has given is discussed and explained further on the sections of this page.

Personal data is not just created by a user’s interactions with a website. Personal data is also generated from technical processes such as contact forms, comments, cookies, analytics, and third party embeds.

By default WordPress does not collect any personal data about visitors, and only collects the data shown on the User Profile screen from registered users.

However some of a website’s plugins may collect personal data (i.e. social media plugins – that’s why we removed them all from our websites, It got way too complicated and spooky.  That’s also why we built our own “Simplified” theme.  🙂 ).

Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information

Certain visitors to Accentrio’s website choose to interact with Accentrio in ways that require Accentrio to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that Accentrio gathers depends on the nature of the interaction.

For example, we ask visitors who sign up at Accentrio.com to provide a username and email address. Those who engage in transactions with Accentrio are asked to provide additional information, including as necessary the personal and financial information required to process those transactions.

In each case, Accentrio collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with Accentrio.  Accentrio does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. And visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.

What do we do with your information?

When you purchase something from our store, as part of the buying and selling process, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address and email address.

When you browse our store, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system.

Email marketing (if applicable): With your permission, we may send you emails about our store, new products and other updates.

Website Hosting and Allied Business Entities

Our website is hosted at BlueHost and we use WooCommerce for our Online Shop’s Shopping Cart. Our Content Management System CMS) is WordPress. The Website and the Shop uses the  “Simplified Theme” (theme was created, developed by Cris Waters of AGDTechnology).  Paypal processes our online payments, and also provide “Paypal Credit” for U.S. based customers.  These Business Entities provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you.

Payments:

If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then PayPal stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.

All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

For more insight, you may also want to read PayPal’s Privacy Statement .

Third-Party Services

In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.

However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.

For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.

In particular, remember that certain providers may be located in, or have facilities that are located in a different jurisdiction than either you or us. So if you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located.

As an example, if you are located in Canada and your transaction is processed by a payment gateway located in the United States, then your personal information used in completing that transaction may be subject to disclosure under United States legislation, including the Patriot Act.

Once you leave our store’s website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our website’s Terms of Service.

When you click on links on our store, they may direct you away from our site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and encourage you to read their privacy statements.

Security & How we protect your data

To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.

If you provide us with your credit card information, the information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored with a AES-256 encryption.  We use PayPal as our online web payments processor.  Here’s a link to Paypal’s Privacy Policy Page.

Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.
